County geoconservation groups are involved in a range of activities all aimed at understanding, recording and enjoying their local geodiversity, protecting it now and for the future, and promoting it, where appropriate, to as wide an audience as possible.
They work in partnership with local community groups, other environment and heritage organisations, local authorities, Natural England, quarrying companies and landowners to achieve these aims.
There is a lot to learn and much to be done. These are local people who do this work because they understand their county landscape heritage and care about it.
